THEMIS at the RCOG World Congress 2025

THEMIS at the RCOG World Congress 2025 | ExCeL London | 24–26 June 2025

This week, the THEMIS Clinical Defence team was proud to attend the RCOG World Congress at the ExCeL London meeting obstetricians, gynaecologists, and healthcare professionals from across the globe. We’ve partnered with the RCOG on a number of occasions, and this event gave us another brilliant opportunity to reaffirm our long-term commitment to supporting those working in this discipline.

Keynote Session: Reducing High Value Maternity Claims.

One of the highlights of our week was a keynote session from Neil Rowe, our Senior In-House Counsel. Neil explored the topic of Reducing High Value Maternity Claims, offering practical, data-driven insights on how to prevent the most severe and costly cases. His talk touched on:

  • The core causes of high-value litigation in maternity
  • How early warning signs can be embedded into case management
  • The critical role of legal advisors in proactive, pre-emptive support

Neil’s session sparked some fantastic discussions, with delegates welcoming his hands-on advice for building a stronger, safer clinical foundation, one where smart risk control goes hand in hand with great care. It was great to see a packed audience with people watching from the crowd spilling out into the wings!

Connecting with the Community.

Throughout the event, we were thrilled to welcome so many visitors to the THEMIS stand. From NHS and private consultants to international members of this community, it was a pleasure to exchange stories, answer questions, and explore how our bespoke indemnity model supports safe and sustainable maternity practice. These face-to-face conversations are what truly bring our work to life, and we’re grateful to everyone who stopped by.

Looking Forward.

Attending the RCOG World Congress is a privilege, and it’s one we take seriously. It reflects our ongoing commitment to staying close to the clinical, legal and risk trends shaping maternity care today. Whether through education, collaboration, or tailored support, THEMIS Clinical Defence is here to walk alongside the discipline and our policyholders through the key moments in individuals’ careers.

Let’s Keep the Conversation Going.

Is Your Private Practice Really Safe?

If your provider is discretionary, they are not legally bound to support you. While they may offer help in some cases, they aren’t obligated to do so and each case is evaluated on its own merits, meaning they can choose whether to provide support or not.
